Marj Greenhut

"Through My Lens"

August 10th - September 30th, 2008

Marj GreenhutMarj Greenhut is allowing her lifelong passion for art to become her main focus. In the last 67+ years she has held many titles: photographer, watercolorist, sculptor, life partner, wife, mother, grandmother, marriage and family therapist, tennis player, land steward, and workshop leader. Many years ago Marj was the director of the Senior Arts Program at the Jewish Community Center in El Paso Texas — she finds it hard to believe that she is now exhibiting her own work as a Senior citizen.

Marj GreenhutHer photographs, as well as some of her other artwork have been exhibited in both solo and group shows in Indiana, Texas, CaliforniaMarj Greenhut and Oregon. She has also had several things published through the years. This year she has semi-retired in order to devote more energy to her art. In addition to getting more exposure for her work she has been taking classes to improve her photography and to learn new skills, such as encaustic painting. This unites her interests in photography, painting and sculpture.

Marj GreenhutAlthough she continues to work as a therapist doing workshops and individual and couples counseling, she has limited her practice to allow time for artistic work. Marj's photographic subject matter Marj Greenhutvaries from land and sea to images of interesting people from all the Americas and Europe. At present she is photographing active persons in their 90's and 100's. Volunteers for this project are most welcome.
