MILT WEAR

"Art of Faith"

June 3rd - July 27th, 2007

Milt WearMilt Wear resides in Beaverton, Oregon. He is a poet/writer and works in several mediums.

Milt WearUpon retirement, he rekindled his passion for art with studies at Portland Community College, Studio work at the Oregon School of Arts & Crafts, and many workshops with both local and national water media professionals during the past fifteen years.

Milt WearHe has exhibited in numerous venues such as Beaverton Arts Commission, Oregon Society of Artists, Village Gallery, Elsie Stuhr Center, United Way Gallery, and Belinki and Duprey downtown Portland.

Milt WearMilt has been the director of "The Witness Group" for the last four years. The Witness Group is a large collection of Professional Artists from many Christian faiths and churches; he has organized and participated in shows in many area churches as well as several of their full-time galleries. Milt is also the co-director of the United Way "Art of Change Gallery" in downtown Portland. Professional and emerging artists are featured on each "First Thursday." The emphasis has been on recognizing the artistic gifts in the many cultures.

Milt WearCurrently his major interests have been focused upon helping create programs within area churches, directed at discovering the gifted (whatever those gifts may be) within the body; and in recognizing the individual and corporate responsibility of all of us to help in their development.
